Purpose

Extract transaction rows from PDF bank statements for review and file export.

Input

PDF bank statements, up to 4 MB per file in the public converter.

Outputs

CSV is included on every plan. Professional adds Excel (XLSX), QBO and QFX; Business also includes JSON.

Compatibility

Exports are files you import into your accounting software. ConvertBank does not connect to your bank or sync transactions directly to an accounting platform.

Review

Review dates, amounts and completeness before using an export. Running-balance checks are available when the statement contains the necessary figures.

Original PDF

PDFs are sent to our servers for conversion. Larger signed-in uploads may be staged temporarily in private storage to reach the converter; they are deleted after processing, with daily cleanup for abandoned uploads. The standard conversion flow does not save the original PDF in the conversion database.

Extracted rows

Signed-in conversions save extracted transaction rows and conversion metadata to your account history.

Retention

Published conversion-history retention varies by plan: Free: 7 days; Starter: 30 days; Professional: 365 days; Business: 730 days. Account, payment and support records are handled separately.

ConvertBank supplies files for downstream accounting workflows. It does not submit returns or updates to HMRC and does not provide a live bank feed.
