Convert and review

How do I convert my first statement?

Try a PDF without an account. The free preview and CSV download include up to the first 50 transactions. Upload a PDF, wait for processing, review the rows and download the CSV. Create an account if you need saved history or a paid plan.

Which files can I upload?

PDF bank statements, up to 4 MB per file in the public converter. The public tool accepts PDFs, not CSV or Excel files. Text-based statements give the best starting point. Scan quality and unusual layouts can affect the result.

How long does processing take?

Time depends on the file size, layout and extraction method. AI extraction can take longer than bank-specific parsing. Keep the page open while it works; follow the on-screen retry guidance if it fails.

Why do I only see 50 transactions?

The free preview and download include up to the first 50 transactions. A longer PDF may contain additional rows. The preview is not a complete export of a longer statement; check the on-screen limit notice.

What should I check in the result?

Review dates, amounts and completeness before using an export. Running-balance checks are available when the statement contains the necessary figures. Look for missing or duplicate rows, incorrect signs, wrapped descriptions and dates. A successful download does not establish that every row is correct.

My bank or layout is not recognised. What next?

Check that your file is a complete, readable statement. Contact support with the bank name and a description of the problem. You do not need to send the statement with your first enquiry.

What should I do if conversion fails?

Check the file is a PDF within the upload limit. If it is password-protected, unlock it in trusted PDF software before uploading. Try a smaller statement period. If the problem persists, tell support what happened without including financial contents.

Exports and accounting software

Which export formats are available?

CSV is included on every plan. Professional adds Excel (XLSX), QBO and QFX; Business also includes JSON.

Does ConvertBank connect to my accounting software?

Exports are files you import into your accounting software. ConvertBank does not connect to your bank or sync transactions directly to an accounting platform.

How do I import the CSV?

Use your accounting software’s bank-statement import workflow, check the required columns and date format, then review before confirming. Our export and import guide includes a fictional sample CSV and links to the official documentation.

Accounts and billing

What are the plan allowances?

Free: £0.00/month, 1 conversion per month. Starter: £9.99/month, 50 conversions per month. Professional: £19.99/month, 150 conversions per month. Business: £39.99/month, 500 conversions per month.

Can I upgrade or downgrade?

You can manage your plan through your account billing settings. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period.

Do you offer refunds?

New subscriptions carry a 14-day money-back guarantee. After that, cancelling stops the next renewal; we do not refund partial months. You can cancel at any time and continue using paid features until the end of your billing period.

When does my monthly allowance reset?

Your conversion allowance resets with your billing cycle. Check your account billing page for the current period and remaining allowance.

Privacy and data

Do you store my statements or transactions?

PDFs are sent to our servers for conversion. The standard conversion flow does not save the original PDF in the conversion database. Signed-in conversions save extracted transaction rows and conversion metadata to your account history.

How long is conversion history kept?

Published conversion-history retention varies by plan: Free: 7 days; Starter: 30 days; Professional: 365 days; Business: 730 days. Account, payment and support records are handled separately.

Is AI used to process my data?

Bank-aware parsers process supported layouts. Statement content may be sent to Anthropic for AI extraction or transaction categorisation; a separate parsing service may also process the PDF.

Can support see a document I send?

If you choose to provide a document for a support request, that attachment and your message may be stored and reviewed by support. This is separate from standard conversion.

How do I ask for deletion or a copy of my data?

Contact privacy@convertbank-statement.com from the email associated with your account. Explain what you are requesting; do not include financial records in the request. Account and payment records may be handled separately from conversion history.
